Tri-County Dental Health has been serving the metropolitan Detroit community since the 1930s, first as a philanthropic program of the Detroit District Dental Society, then as a United Way funded non-profit agency, and more recently as a program of JVS.
JVS is a not-for-profit organization that has provided a vast array of services in Detroit and the metropolitan suburbs for over 70 years. Through counseling, training and support services people are helped to meet life’s challenges. Programs assist people from diverse populations, including people with disabilities and those who are at risk. JVS recognizes the importance that health plays in self-sufficiency. Coordination and referrals to health services and case management are part of the support services offered to clients.
In 2010, Tri-County Dental Health was brought under the JVS umbrella not only to ensure continuity of services for the community, but also to enhance our services and provide opportunities for growth. The program provides dental information and referral services to low income residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties.
